Exhibit May & June 2015: Patricia Swanson
Patricia Swanson was born in Lynnwood, WA and started working with photography in high school. She has worked in and out of the dark room, having a love for both film and digital photography, black and white as well as color. Patricia received her BA in Studio Arts and English Literature at WWU in the winter of 2014 and will be starting her MFA in Photography at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art in August 2015.
Having grown up in the midst of suburbia, a place that is stereotypically new and clean, Patricia has found herself drawn to places that carry more history and show the effects of time. She is interested in how historical photographic techniques can be used to create images with in a digital culture and explore the relationship between antiquated and modern imagery.
