Wednesday 7:15-9:15pm ~Contact Improv with Paul

The Wednesday Contact Improvisational Jam is an inclusive opportunity for all levels to dance regardless of previous experience. The first 20-30 minutes are facilitated with a mini-lesson and/or a “score” that Paul tailors to the collective need and ability of the group each week, saving about an hour open dancing and integration. The overall intention for the night is to cultivate an inclusive and safe container for authentic movement, expression and reflection. Please gift yourself with a spacious entry; time to take in the room, orient yourself, to do what ever you need to arrive and drop in for opening circle at 7:15—this is especially important if you are new, for the mini lesson may help prepare you for the night.
Contact Improvisation (CI) is a movement-form rooted in listening. It is born from the spontaneous interaction communicated through a point of contact and is informed by listening and intuition. The “dance” may appear small/quiet/subtle, expansive/dynamic and/or anywhere in-between… yet ideally, the common denominator is a quality of paying attention, while allowing the dance to happen. One of the many inspiring aspects of CI is that it is truly inclusive of all shapes, ages, and or abilities.
Specifics:
Personal warm-up and arrival: 7:00 – 7:15pm
Prompt start: 7:15 (with opening circle and short instruction tailored to the needs of the collective group)
Open dancing: 7:45ish – 9:00pm
Closing circle: 9:00pm
Cost  $10.00

Thursday 7:15-9:15pm ~ Deep Practice with Jenny Macke

This class is devoted to putting the motion of our Conscious Dance practice into healing space.  We dance deeply together, usually a double wave with a teaching in the middle.  Sometimes this teaching is based on Universal Conscious Movement Practices that Jenny has created, sometimes specifically 5Rhythms and other times Open Floor Movement Practices.  As we dance in this evening class we give ourselves the opportunity to shed stresses from our week and get to the heart of our dances.  So that we can move in our everyday world in a more soulful, whole hearted and embodied way.  cost  $15.00 drop in or $60.00 for a 5 class card

Classes continuing regularly and usually only take a break if it lands on Christmas Day.   We do dance on Thanksgiving and other holidays. For more information contact:  jenny@presence-studio.com or 360-223-5449
